I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and of course English. I have taught ESL before. I also have a degree in Wildlife Biology. So I am very diverse and can handle a lot of subjects in Science and the Humanities. Tutoring is a good way to interact with young people and help them on their way toward a better future.
I also have excellent writing skills and could help English speakers and non English speakers on their way to a better understanding of the language. I have a lot of patience and can work well with young people. I come from a large family so I know and understand a lot about being a kid and the effort it takes to gain knowledge for their future.
As a trained biologist I have been through rigourous coursework that gave me the basics of biology in many dimensions. I have taken many courses in a broad spectrum of the Natural sciences relating to animal and plant biology. I also took a graduate level plant materials course and received an A - a few years after receiving my degree - so I still retain and understand the basics of biology and can build upon that to communicate with the student.
I hope that you take a look at my profile. I think I am a good tutor and can get through to any student regardless of talent or interest - the fundamentals of language, biology and some of the basic math courses. Please get hold of me and we can think through your problems together and develop a strategy to improve your comprehension of the material you desire to master. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
