About Erin

Bio

I'm a Saint Mary's College and University of Notre Dame alumna. I majored in physics and mechanical engineering at each institution respectively through their unique dual-degree program. While in school, I tutored college and high school students in Physics I (mechanics), Calculus I, and Calculus II. I absolutely love mechanics and have tutored students on the subject for over 4 years.

I am a huge sports fan! I'm actively involved in soccer and I still play volleyball. I'm also a big basketball and college football fan. My other hobbies include working out, reading, watching movies, and traveling.

I've been tutoring math for 4+ years, but I've also taken enough math classes over the years to have a wide range of knowledge and tricks from many different teachers and professors to suit many different learning styles.

I started playing basketball in elementary school and continued through college. My specialty is/was shooting and rebounding, but I have solid fundamentals in all areas of the game. I believe in building strong fundamentals before working on more complex skills.

I love trying out new cooking and baking recipes whether that be sugary desserts or healthy dinners. I do most of the cooking for daily meals and baking for special events (Christmas, birthdays, etc.) in our house. I have recently focused my cooking and baking to healthier alternatives to accommodate my athletic lifestyle.

I am an NASM certified personal trainer, but I got into personal training to learn more about fitness so I could implement those improvements towards my own fitness goals of becoming quicker. I have been involved in athletics since I was young and I have continued to build upon that. I'm a big believer in fitness having a major, positive impact on several other aspects of your life.

I started playing soccer before I started school and continued playing all through high school. Then I started teaching private lessons to middle school students in preparation for their tryouts for the high school team which I was also helping coach. In middle school, I started officiating, so I have a great understanding of all the laws/rules.

I've been coaching club volleyball for over 7 years. Volleyball is a family sport in our house, so I started playing travel and on adult recreational leagues while I was in middle school. Since then, I've been coaching with my dad as well as playing at least once a week both indoor and beach.
