Hello, there. My name is Robert, and I graduated with a bachelors of science in mathematics at Florida Gulf Coast University. I have worked as a tutor at tutoring departments at both IUPUI and FGCU as well as helped friends, families, and coworkers for many years since 2010.
Additionally, I have passed the Probability actuary exam. For those unfamiliar, the actuary exams are quite difficult and usually require hundreds of hours of studying and working through problems. This particular exam tested mastery of algebra, probability, statistics, and calculus (first two semesters). With my experience in the school system being a student, in the university studying higher level mathematics, in the tutoring lab formulating the best methods and presentations of those mathematical concepts, and in my study room continually keeping myself refreshed and rehearsed on grade-level mathematics, I am ready to help you love and learn math.

I have always been known to be detail-oriented and able to explain difficult concepts in ways that others have not thought about before. On my own free time I find myself randomly contemplating how to solve problems and explain them more thoroughly, step-by-step. One of my weaknesses that I have improved on over time was my tendency to lecture more than allow the student to show their mastery before properly explaining a concept when it's needed. One of my greatest strengths is that I do empathize with a student's frustration and lack of confidence with mathematics, especially if they have been categorized as one of those students who just isn't one of those "math people." You can rest assured that you or your child will be treated with the upmost respect, and that we will treat mathematics as any skill-based subject, not as a special elite category of knowledge that only a few gifted individuals will understand.

I am currently giving this tutoring opportunity a test run and currently have hours on Saturdays, Sundays, and Thursday afternoons. Please contact me if you have any more questions. I am happy to answer them and look forward to helping you succeed and truly understand mathematics.

Probability

I passed a 3000 college level Probability and Statistics course with an A+ which covers far more theory and application than entry level college probability and statistics. During that time I hosted study sessions with fellow students successfully. I have also passed Exam P which is one of the entry actuarial exams greatly known for its difficulty with an average passing rate of 41%. That exam tests mastery of probability and statistics.
