In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have studied piano for over 25 years. I know classical, contemporary, and sacred music. I studied under a Russian piano performance prodigy before college, and obtained a college scholarship for music after placing 2nd in the annual Brown Music competition. I obtained a degree in Church Music and Education from Taylor University, and studied both piano and vocal performance while attending there. For my final recital, I played a movement of a Rachmaninoff concerto duo with another pianist. I also have played piano for my church band for over 10 years.
I have ten years of experience teaching Spanish beginning, intermediate, and advanced honors class at the secondary level.
