My name is Victoria.
I tutored for 3 years at the Paul L. Foster Success Center at Baylor University. After earning my undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics, I earned my Masters in Statistics and continued my graduate studies at Baylor University while teaching undergraduate statistics. I now work as a statistician for Lilly in addition to tutoring privately.
I have experience tutoring most math subjects including prealgebra, algebra, precalculus, calculus, statistics, GRE math and SAT math. I have helped many students succeed in math for many years.
I enjoy working with students one-on-one, building relationships with students in order to achieve the most success. Tutoring is a great way to help build a student's understanding of the subject as well as their overall study skills. My name is Victoria.

Before I began tutoring, I took a practice exam for the GRE and scored in the 6th percentile in the math/quantitative portion. Clearly, this score was unsatisfactory. The following week, Victoria and I began our work together.
She is flexible, personable, truly enjoyable to be around and, above all, brilliant. She is able to approach every problem not only with tactics to help solve the problem, but also to remember how you solved it. Her ability to adapt to my needs and pick up on how my brain responds to different problems has helped my 6th percentile evolve to 50th percentile in 2 months!!
As I approach the actual exam in 13 days, Victoria has not only allowed me to feel capable and prepared; she's instilled in me a confidence about math that I've never had. I'm no longer afraid of math, and I doubt myself much less than I ever have.
Victoria was a huge help. I would definitely recommend her. Worked on a project for stats and that included hypothesis testing, calculating confidence intervals, and making conclusions based on those tests. We also finished assignments I had due for the week. Thank you, V.
Victoria connected very well with our son, which is a key to any tutoring situation. His scores on his AP-Stats final and his final semester grade, as well as a strong AP-Stats Test score for college submission were more than we hoped.
He made it clear to us that Victoria's tutoring was the primary reason for the improvement. We can't say enough about her. We feel she is a friend, as well as our son's tutor. She was always on time, prompt, and if something came up, had a backup plan, or gave us plenty of notice. We really couldn't have asked for a better tutor and fit for the AP-Stats needs our son had.
Victoria is very pleasant and seems to be a very competent tutor. My son seemed to respond very positively to her and I think they will work well together.
Victoria is very up to date on her methods and knowledge of current course material for the math class that she helped me with. She is accommodating on meeting times and locations, and is very effective at teaching concepts, not just singular problems. She was patient enough to let me try the problems that I thought I could handle, and would correct me only after I got to a place in which I was stuck. In doing so I was able to figure out exactly where I get tripped up, and more importantly, why. I hate math but I like this tutor.
If you are seeking someone that has specialized knowledge around the subject of statistics, Victoria is the optimum choice for gaining assistance. She is very smart, patient and personable and gets you to think in terms of real life examples in a simplistic way. I would highly recommend her services to others.
Every one of my tutoring sessions with Victoria was very enjoyable, and so, so helpful! She is an awesome tutor who helped me immensely in pre cal. She keeps things relaxed, fun, and will walk through the problems step by step to help you truly understand each and every problem. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Victoria is an extremely helpful and very knowledgeable tutor. She helped me figure out what type of analysis to run on the data I collected for my thesis. She is very personable. She taught me a few new tricks on excel!!! Thank you so much for your help!!
Victoria was knowledgeable with regard to my son's subject matter (Algebra 2), and found a way to communicate to him an understanding of the material that he was having problems grasping. Although she only tutored him twice-- it was effective enough that he w able to pass his Final Exam, as well as the Course. She was personable, and prompt-- couldn't ask for more!
Victoria is an amazing tutor! She's very personable and could easily relate to my son! I would give her a ten for ten! She's wonderful!
Victoria is very helpful. She helps by walking you through any example problems or questions you may have. She tutored me in Biostatistics, and I understood everything she explained. She is easy to contact. I really recommend her!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
