“**First session, good stuff!**”

If I were to describe my career choices in one phrase it would be that I have always had one foot in the ENGINEERING world and one foot in the EDUCATION world with MATH and PROBLEM SOLVING being the common thread. When I graduated high school in 1993 I went to Purdue to pursue an engineering degree. I graduated in 1997 with a BS in Construction

Darryl helped me by having me teach him the way to solve problems. By the end of our first session, my confidence level was up. I worked on math, completing the remainder of my homework the next day in a much shorter time span than I would have if I had not a clue what I was doing. I have arranged for further sessions with Darryl!!

My daughter missed 1 1/2 weeks of school and was behind in Algebra. Darryl met with her and was able to bring her up to speed quickly as if she hadn't missed class at all. Thank you!

There are many good things to say about Darryl. First he is responsible! He communicates w/ you and your child. He takes the time to get informed about what is needed and applies the information in his tutoring sessions. He has been very helpful and this family is very appreciated of his great effort!!

Darryl does an awesome job tutoring! Darryl is very patient and makes sure that you understand the material before you leave your tutoring session. I will definately use him again for math tutoring!

I contacted WyzAnt for a tutor in math. I had several responses, and after careful review I chose Darryl C. I was starting back to College and needed a review. Not only was Darryl easy to get ahold of, he had evening appointments available. I advised him it had been SEVERAL years since I opened a math book. I was somewhat embarrassed about my LACK of math skills. This did not seem to bother Darryl at all. Not only did he make me feel comfortable about math, he also explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and not like a foreign language. I would highly suggest anyone needing help with math to contact Darryl.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

The ACT has become the more common college entrance exam. I am certified to teach ACT Math which is more focused on book smarts based on the high school curriculum. I graduated with an engineering degree from Purdue and a Master's degree in math education from Ball State University and I have taught the high school math curriculum for 2 years. I can also teach students how to prepare for tests in a time-efficient manner

I taught and tutored Algebra 1 at Ivy Tech Community College for over 3 years and I taught this subject for 2 years as a high school math teacher. I enjoy seeing students get the hang of solving equations and graphing.

I have taught a combination of Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 in both high school and college settings for 4 years. I can help students break down and master the steps for each problem they face in Algebra 2.

As a practicing engineer and a former high school teacher, I love geometry and own several resources that can help students learn the concepts. I have passed Wyzant's assessment to qualify as a geometry tutor.

I taught college algebra at Ivy Tech Community College which trains nurses that have to eventually take the TEAS test. I also have an engineering degree from Purdue which involved taking college chemistry and physics.

I have taught/tutored Prealgebra skills for over 7 years and have some neat resources to help a student master these skills.

The SAT Math portion focuses more on reasoning and problem-solving skills rather than book smarts. Since I've been a teacher and a practicing engineer I've had experience in the classroom and in the business world using these skills to solve real-world problems.

I tutored several students in Trigonometry while I was a math instructor at Ivy Tech. The right teacher and support can make all the difference - I had any excellent one in high school Trigonometry and hope I can be a helpful support to students struggling in this area.
