I have been tutoring in a middle and a high school the past two years. I've been helping my students with multiple subjects, but I'm most comfortable with literature, writing, and algebra. In college, I minored in Creative Writing and placed 4th in the Wordfest writing competition two years in a row. I'm currently working on a novel, and a series of short stories.
In an educational psychology course, the professor said, "students will float to the mark you set." This is an idea that I keep in mind when working with my students; I keep high expectations and challenge them to improve. However, I also believe that overwhelming a student is unnecessary and counterproductive. I've seen too many students shut down from being given too much to handle.
If you need to cancel for whatever reason, I ask that you try to give at least two hours notice. My current availability is after 3pm on Mondays, after 3pm on Saturdays, and all day Sundays.
