My work history includes positions in substance abuse and mental health counseling, case management, and providing educational classes regarding social work concerns/issues.
I believe in using creativity to teach. I have taught educational classes, done public speaking in classes and professional conferences, and have learned to recognize that students have different learning styles that are not always well served in a traditional classroom setting.
Students become easily overwhelmed when they begin struggling with a particular subject. Once overwhelmed, we have a tendency to panic, shut-down, and start to believe that no matter what we do nothing will change. I was that student. Whether your child is struggling in one (or many subjects), ask yourself: Is my child overwhelmed? Is my child slacking off due to not feeling challenged?

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I played competitive basketball from ages 5yr-16yrs. I competed for school teams, state tournaments, and attended numerous basketball camps including receiving instruction under Pat S. of UT. I provided instruction through 21st Century Scholarship/EVSC partnership during the 2007/2008 school year. My father is a former girl's basketball and women's softball coach. I was raised with athletics.
