Purdue University Calumet - Hammond, IN (Psychology)
Hey! My name is Klorya P. and I attend Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Indiana. I am studying to obtain my bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in early childhood education. I really believe that learning can be fun it just takes the right person. Since I'm still in school I fully understand how the school work can be difficult or not interesting, but I really believe that I can change that and help you find a love for learning. I do have experience teaching smaller children in the grades from 1-5. I would definitely be open to tutoring older children as well! What I love about tutoring is that I have the opportunity to help you learn a subject that may seem very hard. However, once we can figure out why its hard we can make it easy, because school is what you make it. Throughout my years of going to school and having to have being tutored in certain subjects I understand that it may seem difficult but with a little time and help from a person who truly cares about your education any thing can be accomplished.
What I like about the English language is although it may be the hardest language to learn, because it is constantly changing, you are able to express yourself with a larger vocabulary. I will be able to teach you how to articulate and read better than ever. I also enjoy reading books which also helps with the development of your mind and vocabulary!
What makes me an outstanding sports and recreation tutor is that I have known how to play chess since I was 10 years old and I also played golf and tennis through out high school, and was also captain of the golf team. I am really knowledgeable with the rules and regulations of each recreational activity.
I think I will be a great tutor for you! Not only will you be able to learn what you need to for school I will be able to educate you based on your specific needs and I can be able to make learning fun! I will be able to incorporate things you like and don't like into our daily tutoring sessions. That way once you learn the material you will always be able to remember it, this will make our tutoring sessions more hands on and fun! Hey! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been going to church my whole life and knowing the Bible was a huge part of life. I also went to a private Catholic School (Bishop Noll Institute) where we had to take theology class ( the study of religion) in order to graduate. I was also a teacher during Vacation Bible school and taught the nursery (ages newborn 5yrs) different parts of the bible.
