I would like to introduce myself as Mr. Mahmud I. I've been in the education field for the last 28 years. I taught English in Puerto Rico for the Berlitz School of Languages. I also taught English to bilingual students-mainly Spanish speakers- in the state of Connecticut. While in Jordan and Kuwait I taught English and Spanish to Arabic speaking students.
I received my Master's degree from the University of Connecticut in Bilingual Bi-cultural Education which pertains to the field of linguistics and language teaching. I am certified as a Professional Educator in Bilingual education as well as in TESOL and ESL. Students and parents won't feel let down. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a master's degree in bilingual bicultural education from UCONN. My first language is Arabic. I lived in the Middle East for 30 years, where I received my high school diploma. I received my bachelor's degree from Puerto Rico. I have been in the bilingual field since 1989. For now, I am the ELL coordinator at The East Chicago Urban Enterprise Academy.
