I have over 13 years of experience teaching junior high math, junior high science, geometry, physical education, anatomy, zoology, physiology, ecology, agri-science, biology, and advanced biology. I have spent the last 5 1\2 years homeschooling our four children, giving me experience teaching at the elementary level. I played basketball and softball at Grace College. I have experience coaching basketball, softball, and volleyball. I also greatly enjoy domestic pursuits like sewing and cooking healthy meals for my family. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a certified Physical Education teacher with a coaching endorsement. I played basketball for four years during high school. I played two years at Grace College. I have worked at numerous basketball camps including Lancer Camp at Grace College. I have 5 years experience coaching basketball at the junior high and high school levels.
I have been cooking since I was 8 years old. I feed a family of 6 every night. I do my best to cook healthy foods. I love to bake. I have some knowledge of decorating cakes and cookies with frosting and fondant. My kids favorite foods are homemade pizza, chocolate chip cookies, sweet potato pie, hamburgers and homemade baked fries.
I hold Michigan Teacher Certification for All-grade Physical Education. I have homeschooled our children for the last six years teaching Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. I feel very confident teaching reading as I have helped our children using a phonics based curriculum. They are all reading above grade level. My other areas of certification include Junior High through High School Math and Science. I am more than qualified to help with elementary math and science.
I am a certified Physical Education Teacher with multiple years of experience teaching fitness to junior high and high school students.
I learned to sew when I was around 10 years old. I am able to use a sewing machine and own one. Projects I have made include multiple sets of curtains, a couch cover, quilts, pillows, and prom dresses. I can alter clothing as well. I also can do needlework.
I have played since I was in elementary school. Played 4 years in high school and made All State. I also played one year at SVSU and one year at Grace College.
I taught high school zoology and animal science. I hold a Michigan General Science teacher certification which qualifies me to teach any science subject.
