As a Adjunct Professor of Graphic Design and Copy Writing at Butler University, I offer personal tutoring and skills development for creatives of any age. Should you have an interest as a writer, illustrator or digital creative, I have a plan for our work together. From paper and pen, pencils to pixels and imagery, I will develop a personal tutoring platform to enhance your skills and strengthen you as a creative.
I am 25-year veteran copy writer in creative advertising and internet applications. Writing for commerce, sentiment, news, public relations and marketing is my passion, along with the visual development to tell a truly great story.
I connect with my students at their level of interest and need. We outline a path for growth and successful enhancement of their composite creative skill. Finding the common ground in our understanding and building on the foundation to help them reach a newer level of mastery and confidence as a creative is my goal relative to each student.
Being a creative is fun and get s better as your toolbox grows along the way. Lets work together to assist you in reaching your next great level of application and have a great time doing it. I'll bring a unique mix of professional and academic rationale to meet your specific needs and goals. Oh, and we'll have a great time as we do it. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BA in Studio Art from Franklin College (1988) where my initial focus centered on illustration and drawing techniques. I have used illustration extensively as a professional artist for commercial and personal projects. I taught design (with illustration) at Butler University (2005-2010).
I am a lifetime professional designer (since 1988), blending the traditional design techniques and the emerging digital technologies for print, web and identity (logo) projects for clients and companies. My professional reputation is based on clear, strong and aggressive visual communication for my clients. I teach design as an Adjunct Professor at Butler University, drawing on my professional skills as the foundation for me class.
