Washington University in St. Louis (Master's)
I have been in the academic setting for the past two years as a school counselor in an elementary and middle school. I also work as an ABA therapist for children with autism. I have a bachelors in Social Work and Psychology, and a Master's in Social Work. Along with helping students feel connected and emotionally safe in the school, I also help them with academic work. I often work one on one with students who are struggling with understanding the material, whether it is math, reading, writing, or science.
I love watching students succeed, and watching their faces and reactions when things finally click. I work with students to discover their strengths and learning styles and use it in any way I can to help make the material easier for them. I have a warm and nurturing personality, and am also extremely energetic and outgoing. I like to make the material as fun as possible and help students to apply what they are learning to everyday life.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I look forward to working with you and your kiddos!

Elizabeth arrives prepared and guides my daughter through concepts, and much needed practice! My daughter's math skills and work are improving thanks to Elizabeth.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been working in an academic setting for grades K-5 for the past two years. In my role as a counselor, I help students with their emotional needs. However, often times a student's emotional needs are tied in with their academic needs and a student's feelings of being inadequate compared to their peers. To help alleviate these feelings I would work with students one on one in reading, math, and writing. I also provide ABA therapy to children with autism and help them with their academic needs as well.
I love working with kids and helping them break down different math concept. I also look at the different ways students learn and present the material to them in different modalities. I have been tutoring for over two years working specifically with kids in elementary school. I also currently work as a school social worker in the school district.
