I am a retired mathematics teacher who is now tutoring since I really missed sharing my knowledge of math with others. I taught 8 years at the middle school level, 27 years at the high school level (including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Discrete Math (which is now called Finite Math). While teaching high school, I also taught night classes at the college level, where I taught all types of Algebra classes and Linear Programming. I have been working as a high school/college math tutor since 2011.

Learning math in a one-to-one situation is ideal. If the student doesn't understand something I explained, I stop and try a different approach. After teaching for 35 years, I know several ways to explain most concepts.

I am very patient, caring, and have an intrinsic desire to help my students achieve success in their math classes.

Please give me a try,
Carol

Awesome

Carol is really good at going through the steps of the equation and explain how a professor will want a problem written. She was also able to provide extra online study material to use outside of lessons

Wonderful tutor!!

Carol has been great to work with for my son who has struggled in Algebra. She has completely taken the time to start from scratch with him and he really is greatful for Carol’s help . Carol is very easy to work with regarding availability too. She tries very hard to work in sessions with our busy family schedule. You will be happy and greatful if you chose Carol as your tutor! Off to a great start

My son has had many tutors for math so he is very in tune with how a tutor is going to work for him. Carol was wonderful and he knew after the first lesson she was going to be a huge help to him this school year. Looking forward to this year!

Tutor responded:

Thank you so much, Niki! Nonetheless, Ben deserves some of the credit. He accepts my suggestions and follows directions easily. I enjoy helping him with his Algebra II class.

Great tutor!

Carol was very patient and understanding in helping my son get a little bit ahead of the next school year. Carol also provided practice problems and good notes that will be very helpful for him in the future. We highly recommend Carol.

Simply explaining the lesson!

Kelly said, she cant believe how much better she feels about geometry after one session. She thinks she will do well on today's quiz! Kelly is excited about getting tutored by Carol and wishes she was her math teacher.

Friendly, Prepared, Helpful

We needed someone to help review Algebra II with our daughter to make sure she didn't miss anything when we moved from one state to another. Carol was perfect! Thanks!

Very very helpful

We have been trying to find someone to help my son with his algebra, someone that could explain the process and help with step by step instruction! We have found that with Carole H. , she has provided notes for my son to take with him so he can practice what he has learned. We are very pleased after just three sessions. Much improvement.

Thank you so much, Jackie, for taking the time to provide feedback for me. It is very appreciated.

A godsend of a tutor with great skill and the ability to relate well with teens.

Carol isn't just a great tutor (and she's definitely THAT), she's also won the heart of my 16 year old daughter. I appreciate the way she's made an effort to find their common interests. In only a few weeks, our teen is getting much less apprehensive about doing the math. What a relief!
