I have my Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I discovered my joy for teaching by filling in as a substitute for my son's school as an elementary education sub and also as a biology and chemistry sub for jr. high and school several years ago. Last school year I taught full time as the science teacher for both jr. high and high school.
The thing I love the most about teaching is the challenge of taking a subject that might seem difficult to a student, then making it easier for them to understand and enjoying the elation on their faces when they get it. I have a 10 year son and am well versed in some of the challenges children face in learning. I have worked with him on a regular basis in breaking down his lessons/homework in a way he can understand better.
I am available for tutoring the following times:
5pm-7pm Monday-Friday until September 1st
3pm-7pm Monday, Wednesday & Friday - September 1st - October 31st
3pm-7pm Tuesday, Thursday & Friday - November 1st - May 31st

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
