About Christina

Bio

I taught myself English back in the early '80s in Beijing, China. When I came to America as a college student in 1988, nobody believed that I was not born and raised in America. This tells you that I know how to study a foreign language on my own. My language skill helped me to finish college and an MBA with honors in America and got me good jobs in corporate America.

I used to teach English in China, I have been teaching Chinese at my church, and I tutor Chinese for high school and college students in the north shore area. I LOVE teaching Chinese to American students, as I see this is the way that I can give back to this great country I love!

I was born and raised in Beijing, and I have been in America for 25 years; therefore, I speak both Chinese and English fluently. My teaching philosophy is to learn a language while having fun with it. I use hands-on, practical, daily activities and real situations to facilitate learning, so that student can actually use the language on a daily basis. Speaking, reading and writing are intertwined so that these skills are developed accordingly.

I am the best Chinese tutor you will ever find!

A great Chinese tutor!

Christina has been a great tutor for our son. She has him working enthusiastically to his capacity. Her style is engaging and entertaining. She is good at boosting his self confidence and inspiring him to do more. We couldn't be happier!

Dennis , 16 lessons with Christina

Re-engaged my daughter in learning Mandarin! Makes learning fun and interesting!

This was my daughter's 3rd lesson with Christina and it just keeps getting better! My daughter had some negative experiences taking Mandarin in group classes in the past and now she loves it and is having fun learning! After Christina left, my daughter took me up to the area they were working and I saw some of their work on a white board in my daughter's room. After a few minutes, my daughter had me doing some "warm-up" moves and speaking words in Mandarin like up, down, left, right, front, back, etc. Very positive for all of us. Thank you!
