About Sue

Bio

I have spent most of my life working with children. I spent 11 years teaching prior to returning to school to work on a doctorate in psychology. I love exciting students about learning. I also realize that many students who come for tutoring have experienced repeated school failures.

I love tutoring because even a few lessons can change lives. Students gain confidence as they begin to find success in small steps.

Math is one of my favorite subjects! I have tutored students in math and love the challenge of helping children think more abstractly.

I taught for 11 years and understand the many demands students have within a classroom setting. I feel confident that I can teach all subjects at the elementary level.

I have worked with struggling readers many times, including my own son who was diagnosed with dyslexia. Phonics is a key component of the reading process for struggling readers to master.

I am eager to begin working with your child. Please contact me to set up a consultation and I will explain what I can do to help in your situation. I look forward to hearing from you!

Experienced teacher with lots of knowledge

Sue appears to get where I am coming from and is interested in how I best learn...not her own agenda which is refreshing. Only met once but have a good feeling about her.
