My specialty is theoretical astrophysics with a deep interest in the theoretical structure and evolution of stellar objects ranging from conventional stars to neutron stars, and black holes. I plan on returning to MIT to finish writing and defending my PhD thesis on the age of the oldest stars in the universe.

I have been teaching physics for the past 30 years in both academia and as a private consultant and tutor. I can provide guidance in courses ranging from high school AP and introductory college physics up through undergraduate and graduate level quantum mechanics, classical mechanics, statistical mechanics, electrodynamics, fluid mechanics, astronomy, theoretical astrophysics, quantum field theories, quantum engineering, nuclear physics, particle physics, and mathematical methods of physics.

I can also provide guidance for the intelligent and inquisitive layman reading current non-professional literature who desires intuitive, non-mathematical explanations of our physical universe.

Please feel free to contact me anytime, even after midnight, to share any thoughts you have with any of your physics courses. I will listen and offer a plan of assistance customized to your specific requirements.

As a theoretical physicist educated at MIT, my background in physics qualifies me to tutor students and professionals in difficult physics oriented topics encountered in mechanical engineering. These range from statics and dynamics, fluid and continuum mechanics, elasticity theory, aeronautical engineerings, to advanced topics in theoretical mechanics, Lagrangian and Hamiltonian dynamics, as well as mathematical methods of mechanical engineering, e.g. partial differential equations, Fourier analysis, dynamical systems analysis. I professionally consult for aerospace and mechanical engineers' intellectual property development with the world's most prestigious IP law firms. Clients include Space X.

Best STEM Tutor I've Ever Had

Literate not only in physics, but in the varied ways teachers teach physics and how it looks on paper. He helped me bump up a quiz grade after our first session and it wasn't just because of the material, but because I felt more capable. Great career advice, too. Definitely coming back!

Understanding physics

Theodore is a no nonsense Tutor he is definitely there to help the student I gave him five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Knowledgeable in his craft follows up well speaks well punctual what can I say he’s been helpful to me and I’m like most of you trying to learn something that’s complicated easily he fits the bill Thanks happy holidays

Excellent Tutor who knows his stuff

In the first 3 weeks of my Undergraduate upper division Astrophysics course, I was struggling. First 3 HW assignments were all below a 50% and my confidence in attaining anything close to maybe even a B was pretty low. Week 4 and after, each lesson and help with Theodore drastically improved my HW scores and Test scores. Last 3 HWs went up substantially , with each one improving compared to the last with the great tips and pointers he gave me. With the guidance he gave me on my HW, the review for my Midterm was made that much easier as I pulled off a solid B. With my Final, I aced it with a 23/24 and with all the other peculiarities of the Class's syllabus, I managed an A-. I could not have foreseen this massive improvement without Theodore's help and interesting discussion. If I have anymore courses related to his field of study and I need help, I would gladly ask him for that extra support to get yourself through if you put the hard work in.

Perceptive and greatly insightful teacher.

I'm not really sure if there is anyone on Wyzant, or even among any of the physics professors I've observed lecturing in top tier universities on YouTube who was even close to have broken down fundamental concepts to such explanatory and philosophical depth. Not taking any formal classes at the moment, I consider myself highly fortunate to have started to learn freshman-level classical mechanics without the hassle of a forced schedule, and incomparably more fortunate to have started with such thought-provoking introduction. Before even asking, Theodore was able to intuit answers to a number of questions in constant succession, and encourage exploration into more advanced topics, which I'm now greatly looking forward to learn in the future, being familiar with their relevance to the field of physics as a whole.

Great tutor!

He's willing to work on difficult engineering graduate subjects because he is incredibly knowledgeable. Highly recommend. I'm so glad I was able to work with him.

Patient Tutor

Theodore is helping my daughter with college level physics and he has been very patient with her. He will slow down and break things down to an elementary level to help her understand the concepts.

Excellent

Theo started working with my college son 2 weeks ago and he is very thorough and prepared for his session. I highly recommend him for physics. He helped my son prepare and understand his engineering physics class.

Very Knowledgable. Enjoys the subject matter

Talked about a woman astrophysicist's contribution to the field, which is the subject of a poem I'm writing. Also illuminated the difference between steady-state theorists and big bang theorists.

Excellent teacher

Theodore is not only very knowledgeable of the material but is able to communicate concepts clearly and thoroughly. He has a facility for seamlessly moving from exploring fundamentals to providing examples of applications, all the while maintaining focus of the problem at hand. Truly an excellent teacher.

Very knowledgeable tutor

Excellent at providing answers to fundamental questions that are rarely taught, especially as regards QM, and differential geometry. Also quite helpful in sifting through the morass of the various interpretations of QM.
