I have a B.S. in civil engineering from Valparaiso University. I am currently a medical student at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Il, and I am a PGA-certified golf instructor. I was consistently in the top 10% of my class during high school. I was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and president of my pledge class, as well as a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society for academic excellence. My love of learning and teaching stems from my family – for example, my father is a PhD in engineering and was a professor at Valparaiso University.
I am committed to helping others increase their knowledge of math and the sciences, especially at the elementary, high school, and early college levels. I am an excellent teacher – I explain complex subject matter clearly and in steps tailored for each of my students’ learning styles, abilities, preferences, and personalities. Sometimes math and science can be intimidating – I break it down into simple steps to build confidence as well as skill. I also use relaxation, focus, and memory techniques to help people learn and retain information. I use a custom approach for each of my students.
After working as an engineer for a few years, I then used those skills in the world of professional sports, when I founded the Bohlmann Golf School. I taught and coached golf enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels for their overall mind-body balance and performance. My students included autistic children and the physically disabled.
I currently tutor English via Skype for a friend who lives in Vietnam. This friend is also my Hapkido Grandmaster from whom I earned my Black Belt. I have an international family and diverse global experiences, which I bring to my teaching and to my understanding of my students. I hope you will call me for help with all your learning challenges, and we will tackle them together! Hello, Students-

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I played baseball from the time I was a small boy. I was a high school letterman on JV and Varsity. I played on an American Legion travel team in Peoria, Illinois then managed the Peoria Parks and Recreation little league while coaching the all-star team. I have coached individuals in hitting and fielding as well.
I am a Class A member of the PGA of America. For the past 10 years I have been playing and coaching the game of golf. I have extensive experience working with junior golfers, golfers with disabilities and other professionals.
During my undergrad work organic chemistry was a required course. I have successfully completed the 2 full semesters of classwork scoring above average in each section. Furthermore, as a final in the second semester, I was required to take a version of the American Chemical Association comprehensive exam covering the complete course on which I received a 95% ranking.
I have successfully managed high level organization for 25+ credit hours in medical school while maintaining above average grades in all subjects. I can help students of any level put together study schedules and work within a time budget to maximize results. Organization is one of my strong points and it is a big part of having good study skills.
My peers in medical school look to me to help them create study aids and for direction in how to study for tests.
