Hello!

Congratulations on your decision to seek a tutor! I received my Bachelor's Degree from Swarthmore College and my medical degree from the University of Illinois and have extensive teaching, tutoring and mentoring experience in both the Elementary, College and Post-graduate level!

I am skilled in teaching any basic science, Math (e.g. Pre-Algebra, Algebra), and English writing/proofreading/editing. I have particular expertise in the medical sciences (Microbiology, Biology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Embryology, Histology, Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Neurology, and Clinical Medicine).

My teaching is flexible and active! I believe students are unique individuals who are products of many factors; including their previous learning experience, their values and their environment. Students bring something unique and special to the learning/teaching experience and as an educator it is my job to provide an accurate, secure, caring, motivating, and stimulating environment in which the student is not only able to realize his/her potential but be empowered and confident in doing so. I believe positive reinforcement is the key.

Every student of mine leaves with skills he or she can utilize in any classroom!

I look forward to working with you!

Pharmacology

As a medical student (and future physician) I am required to study and practice Pharmacology. I have taught pharmacology to other medical students and to tutees. Pharmacology is commonly misunderstood as being a subject of memorization....in reality it's a subject of concepts and once you can make these connections, which I can help you the actual memorization is a breeze! I focus on concepts and then proceed to the details that fits the concepts.

I am a fourth year medical student and the MCAT is a requirement for application to and matriculation into an American medical school. I have successfully completed the MCAT in addition to almost completing medical school, I'll be done in May 2015. The entire 4 years of medical school is essentially the application of MCAT material. Thus, I'm versed in everything MCAT including the writing component. I've taught/tutored in biochemistry, biology, chemistry and edit/proofread written material often. I'm skilled in teaching concepts, application of concepts, and memorization skills, all of which are essential to success on this exam.
