I am a certified teacher with certifications in both Illinois and Missouri. My certifications include Math, Social Studies, and English. I have been teaching for 14 years at the middle school level and have tutored for 16 years at levels that range from Kindergarten to Seniors in High School.

My love for both Math and English has driven me to teach both of these subjects the majority of my teaching career. I enjoy helping students that are struggling with focus, study skills, and grasping concepts taught in a larger class setting. Sometimes, a new approach in a smaller setting is exactly what a student needs to find success with a subject.

My students often praise my ability to relate the subject to their everyday life. They also state that I explain things in a manner that is clear and concise. My "tricks" that I give for remembering math methods are favored by many.

The rules of grammar are finite and this relates to students that can relate to rules. On the flip side, the ideas that come from reading and exploring literature are endless. The discussions had in relation to characters and author's purpose truly make a story come alive.
