Western Illinois University (Spanish)
Hola! My name is Michael W. I am a from Frankfort, Illinois, but I currently reside in Tinley Park, Illinois. My interest and passion for Spanish began early on during High School. I am a 2005 graduate of Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort, Illinois. Throughout high school, I was an active member of the Spanish Honor Society; an organization that accepts members based on academic achievement and comprehension of the Spanish Language. My passion for the language continued on to college, where I majored in Spanish.
I attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois from 2005 until 2009. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, with a minor in Sociology. I was fortunate enough to find a job quickly within my academic goal-path. I currently work for a Rehabilitation company where I assist with Spanish interpretation, mainly in the medical setting; I also assist with translation of documents from English to Spanish. I have been speaking Spanish for well over 11 years, and continue to use it on a daily basis. I am passionate about the language, and have a strong belief in the phrase, "If you don't use it, you lose it."
I am able to meet for tutoring assistance on weekdays at 6:00pm or later and/or anytime on the weekends. I able to tutor introductory Spanish up to high school level, including grammar and syntax. My tutoring style is not to give you the answers, but to help you arrive at these answers and understand why and how. I will also assist you with the best studying techniques in preparation for tests and quizzes! Please let me know if you have any further questions for me. I look forward working with you to improve your comprehension and fluency of the Spanish Language! Hola! My name is Michael W. Michael was scheduled with my son once a week for just about the whole school year. We credit Michael with the B my son earned this year and look forward to working with him again next year.
Michael sat down with our daughter to determine her needs and helped her feel more confident about her Spanish abilities.
Second session. Teacher contacted me and is happy with his improvement after just two sessions. Kevin appreciates being able to have a tutor helping him and is getting more confident in his class work and quizzes.
That is great to hear! I'm glad to see it it helping and he is getting more confident. Thank you for the feedback!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
