If you are looking for a tutor with a plethora of knowledge and that loves helping young students achieve success, you have come to the right place. As your child's tutor, I will identify the areas where your child has strengths and weaknesses, and then work on where your child needs to improve. If you are looking for a tutor with a plethora of knowledge and that loves helping young students achieve success, you have come to the right place. As your child's tutor, I will identify the areas where your child has strengths and weaknesses, and then work on where your child needs to improve. I live in the Springfield/Decatur area and teach 6th grade Language Arts. I am willing to tutor students from kindergarten up to high school.

I attended Illinois State University for my undergrad, and graduated with an Education degree in 2009. I recently completed my masters degree at Lewis University in August 2014 with a degree in Reading and Literacy. I am licensed in Elementary Education and Middle School Education with endorsements in Mathematics, Social Studies, and Reading Specialist (K-12 Reading). I worked for over 4 years as a Math Intervention Teacher with grades K-8, and primarily worked with students who struggle in math (i.e. under the 20th percentile nationally), and a few high achieving students for enrichment. I have also taught 2nd grade, middle school English Language Arts, and 4-6th grade math and social studies. Prior to starting teaching full time, I worked as a substitute teacher for nearly two years and also worked with children with Autism through Easter Seals.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Trumpet

I have played the trumpet from the fourth grade, all the way through college, and beyond, so I have 14 years of playing experience. When I was in high school I privately taught 4-6th graders for 2 years. I have experience playing in concert, jazz, and marching band. I was principal chair several years through my playing career, and played in several groups that were audition only in my years in band. Whether you have a beginning band student, or a high school player, I am confident that I can help them improve, and become mature musicians.

All reviews helped my daughter

She showed my daughter different techniques which she was able to understand. She is excited for the next session.

She played games which helped my daughter learn in a different way. She really enjoyed the session. She was embarrassed about having a tutor but now can't wait for the next session.
