Hi Everyone! I am currently a 4th year elementary education teacher. All my life I have wanted to teach and therefore have an abundance of experience with different ages. I am looking for a ways to continue to provide help to students outside of my classroom. I believe that each and every one of you has incredible potential and I hope I have the opportunity to learn more about your strengths and push you in your obstacles to help you achieve greatness as a student but more importantly as yourself.
Reading is my passion and always has been. As an adult, I make sure that I am current on what my students enjoy because I believe that it is important to be able to connect to my children. As a 3rd grade teacher, I have been focused on teaching solely reading and writing for the past 3 years. I am currently looking to enroll in classes to become a reading specialist. I believe that reading is the base of everything that students need in order to become successful and passionate learners as they continue to grow.
Although this has been my first year working with the Common Core, I have prided myself on learning as much as I can about it. Through my school's curriculum focus, I understand that Common Core looks at things holistically. It is not about teaching students broken apart skills but, rather putting a text in front of them and helping them learn the text as a whole through the complexity and text dependent questions.
My experience has been through with students from k-6th. I am currently a 3rd grade teacher and have been for the last 4 years. I student taught in kindergarten. Through my college experience, I taught in a 2nd grade as well as a 6th grade classroom. I love collaboration with teachers and have spent a lot of time planning with both the 4th and 5th grade teachers in my school so I am familiar with what they are teaching as well.
I would love the chance to help you see how great you can truly be. Please feel free to get in touch with me so that we can set something up right away! Hi Everyone! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
The past 2 years my curriculum has been concentrated on the Common Core. I have been working on creating material to teach the student as a whole reader and just by breaking things down by skill. I am currently a 4th year elementary education teacher. All my life I have wanted to teach and therefore have an abundance of experience with different ages.
I am currently in my fourth year as a 3rd grade teacher with which my focus has been in reading, writing, and social studies. However, my first year I also taught math and science and am more than capable to tutor within those subjects. I have both a Bachelors as well as Masters Degree in elementary education. When it comes to tutoring, I want to know where my students are first and where they need to be in order to push them in the best way. Especially as it relates to reading I like to have my students working through a text instead of simply focusing on worksheets. I want my students to develop a passion for reading and I believe that best way to do that is to show them the greatness of books out there.
