In my prior experienced back in 2004, I worked with GEAR UP as a Mathematics Tutor for grades 9-12 at Mather High School in Chicago. Due to lack of funding from the government, the program was shut down. I enjoyed working with children. I believe that in order to be good in something, we just need practice.
Most of the time, people are afraid of numbers because of their past experience. I believe in braking down the information into details and basing the problems according to that person's experience. I believe that I would be able to change someone's perspective about numbers after I have worked with them several times.
I believe that I am an outstanding Math Tutor because I care for my students and I want to see them do well in their classes. I have worked with children from basic math to Calculus and even help them on their ACT practice exams.
Math is not a hard subject, it is actually simple. We use numbers in everyday activities and sometimes it may be hard or simple. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
