Hello/Bonjour, potential student! I have 6 1/2 years of experience as a French teacher, most recently having taught at a private Catholic high school. In addition to my teaching experience, I have done official public school district homebound instruction (for students that cannot attend regular high school for health related reasons) for 2 years. I tutored officially after school for students on campus as well, in various subjects. I have been tutoring through WyzAnt for over 10 years now and very much enjoy it!

My philosophy of tutoring is to tailor the lessons to meet your needs. Every student learns in his or her own way and I do my best to present the topics in the way that works best for each.

I have both lived and taught (English as foreign language) in France, and enjoy helping students from all different backgrounds. I graduated from Missouri State University with a 3.62 overall (4 point scale), thus I feel that I am qualified to tutor in many areas. At the end of December 2014, I earned my Masters in Educational Technology, with distinction. I am also an Illinois licensed teacher (subject area French).

I look forward to helping you achieve success in your subjects, so please contact me as soon as you are ready to learn!

My schedule fluctuates often and fills quickly (first come, first serve basis), thus the calendar on here may not reflect actual availability.

Knowledgeable and thorough, step by step teacher.

My son fell a little behind in geometry, and in just 2 hours he became very familiar with the material. Together, Michelle is helping him breeze through the material. She is a great, step by step teacher! She should be teaching math! I'm looking forward to continuing to work with Michelle to now prepare for the test! Thank you!

Easy to understand

I liked reviewing math with her and explained what I would expect on the Accuplacer. She takes the time to show the work on the “board” so I’m able to understand better.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Michelle is wonderful. I’m going to Paris for a month and she is helping me learn how to navigate my way while there. She shares menu’s with me so that I understand what is offered. We go over the metro and how to get from one place to another. And, we have gone through the aisles of the supermarche. Michelle will go the extra mile to find the answer to any of your questions that she might not know and share it with you at your next lesson. She does her homework and so do I.

Jane, 10 lessons with Michelle
