Mark is an active composer, writer, and performer. He holds a Master of Arts in Music Composition  and a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance  from Eastern Illinois University.
At EIU, Mark performed in the Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, Eastern Symphonic Orchestra, and Trombone Choir. In 2015, he co-founded a student-led ensemble dedicated to performing new works from EIU's growing composition studio.
In April 2015, Mark successfully conducted premieres of his first ballet and his Symphony with the Eastern Illinois New Music Ensemble. He has considerable experience in music theory and composition pedagogical practices.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Master's Degree in music composition. My portfolio includes a wide array of transcriptions, arrangements, and new compositions. I have successfully conducted and recorded several of my own works. I have taught many lessons during my time as a graduate student.
