My approach to teaching is a student-centered one, always keeping in mind a student's short-term aims and long-term goals in their studies. I enjoy teaching because every day with my students is a different experience, which keeps me looking forward to each lesson. I will learn to constantly adjust to suit your needs and levels and also to progress from what you already know. I know that every student learns in different ways so I would first get to know a bit about you and your interests and tailor each tutoring session to relate to what you'd really like to focus on learning and how you would like to learn it.
I have been teaching English for over 10 years, mostly international adult students who come to the U.S. from so many different countries. I have also had a wonderful opportunity to teach English in Japan for 3 years to students of all ages, from children to seniors. I currently work as a full-time ESL instructor at a private college and specialize in many aspects of English language learning: vocabulary, conversation, reading, grammar and writing.
It would be great to hear from you and look forward to meeting you. Together, we can work together one step at a time to realize your learning goals.

Grace is a very reliable English teacher. She is good at hearing of what I want to say, even though I can't speak in English so much. Also she would improve the grammar and vocabulary to something more appropriate when I were wrong choice of words. And more, she always prepare the teaching material from some textbooks tailored to my level of understanding. I think she is the best teacher for English beginners.
Grace has tutored my 55 year old mother in law. These were twice a week sessions for over 2 months while my mother in law was visiting US. Very patient and knowledgeable teacher. My mother in law made great progress and was exited to go for every session. She was always on time and promptly responded to any scheduling questions. I highly recommend Grace to anyone looking for an ESL tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have 10 years experience as an ESL instructor. I currently work full time at an ESL school for adult international students. I love helping students succeed in their learning goals.
