I have 4 years of experience tutoring students in chemistry, biology, physics, math, anatomy, and physiology, During this time, I have come to realize that ANYONE can understand complicated concepts. Anxiety, boredom, and fear may interfere with one's learning, though. Because of this, I make it my priority to make the learning experience as much fun as possible and relate course topics to things that are meaningful to students' lives. A geometric formula is not just a formula - it can explain how tall you have to be to be a successful tennis player. Forces in physics can tell you how fast you have to run to tackle that football player. Chemical reactions occur due to attraction of molecules to each other, much like people uniting based on attraction to one to another. This approach has made me successful as a learner; changing a student's attitude toward a subject can make him or her just as successful.
Hope to hear from you!
My qualifications are as follows: 4 years of tutoring experience; certification from the National Tutoring Association; graduate level studies in anatomy and physiology with cadaver dissection; bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Tutor of the Month Award (July 2016) from a different website. Marina is the friendliest, most understandable tutor you can have for chemistry. She is very patient with me, and I now feel far more confident and have seen growth in my knowledge and test scores.
Marina is a polite and excellent tutor that can explain a difficult concept in a comprehensible manner. She knows much about the topic and does her best to make things easy to understand.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I attended a rigorous graduate level Anatomy and Physiology course with full cadaver dissection. Plus, I have over 3 years of experience tutoring Anatomy and Physiology to college students getting medical degrees, mostly Nursing or Dental Hygiene. I also have a degree in Kinesiology, which helped me gain a thorough understanding of the structure and function of the human body in movement and everyday tasks. And I attended graduate level pathophysiology coursework, which helped me gain deeper understanding of interaction of human organs and systems in attempts to explain diseases and disorders.
I have over 3 years of experience tutoring Biology to college students getting healthcare degrees, mostly Nursing or Dental Hygiene. And most students I tutor focus on biological processes that appear important in nursing school admission tests, such as TEAS and HESI. Overall, my knowledge and years of experience in tutoring chemistry help a deeper understanding of biological processes.
I completed undergraduate coursework in general chemistry with lab at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. And I have over 3 years of experience in tutoring chemistry to college students getting a healthcare degree, mostly Nursing or Dental Hygiene.
