My interest in learning languages began when I was an exchange student to Switzerland. When I was 18, I moved to Québec and lived there for 18 years, obtaining my Bachelor's degree in French as a Second Language and a second Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. Upon returning to the US, I obtained a Master's degree in Educational Leadership.
I have a total of 14 years involved in education, in the classroom, as well as working at the Illinois State Board of Education. I enjoy working with children of all ages, and have experience with K-12.
My degree and previous teaching experience in Teaching English as a Second Language will help me provide the best learning experience to your student.
Having lived in Québec City, as well as having obtained my degree in French as a Second Language will permit me to transmit my real-life experiences to your student to make their language acquisition more realistic.
If you or your child are interested in learning French reading, writing, speaking and oral comprehension at any level, or receiving instruction in English or English as a Second or other language, please do not hesitate to contact me for more information. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
