Hello! I want to take a few moments to share with you some of my background and my approach to tutoring. Graduating with highest distinction from the University of Illinois at Chicago, I received both my Bachelor of Arts and my state teaching certification. I have experience working in Chicago Public Schools. I also have worked at three universities, in both academic and administrative positions. Throughout my career, I have worked as a tutor and have over fifteen years of experience.
As a tutor, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of students, meeting a variety of goals. I have students from all over the world. Some of my students are gifted, special needs and English second language. I tutor for math, reading, writing and science from middle school through college, and I also tutor for standardized exams, such as the ACT, SAT, GED, GRE, ASVAB, TOEFL, TOEIC and TEAS. I also have experience structuring curriculum and working with both homebound and homeschooled students.

What is adaptive teaching?
Whether you are pursuing a specific goal on a standardized test or in a class, you need a suitable learning environment. All too often, we are in an setting that supports only one learning style, and this can cause us to miss critical information or foundational concepts. My approach is simple: adaptive teaching. As learners, we all have a unique learning style, and we learn best when concepts are provided in a way that best fits that style. I work with each of my students to identify what their learning style is and help them to understand it for themselves. I then adapt my teaching style to better suit their needs. This not only assists in long term retention of material, but helps each of my students to better understand their studying needs.

As an educator, I have the priviledge of helping people to realize goals that they once thought were impossible, and I look forward to getting to know you and helping you achieve your goals!
