About Tina

I have been an interpreter for the last five years in the Northern Illinois area. I attended Waubonnsee Community College and graduated in 2012 with an AAS in Interpreting and in 2014 I graduated from Gallaudet University with a BA in Deaf studies.

I was the coordinator for the Interpreting Program at College of DuPage, and taught ASL 1 and Fingerspelling and Numbers. I have tutored a few individuals in this area.

If you are ready to learn a new language that is used everyday in the United States, and want to learn how to communicate with Deaf and hard of hearing people? Well, you have found the right person. SMILE

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Hard Of Hearing

I am a licensed interpreter in Illinois and Missouri, which means I can work with children and adults. I have a AAS in Interpreting and BA in Deaf Studies. I have taught at the college level (American Sign Language Classes). I work for the Sorenson VRS, which is a Federal Relay Service for Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I also grew up with Deaf parents and family members.
