About Mark

Hollo. My name is Mark. I am an experienced teacher, tutor and paraprofessional. I have worked with learners from 1st and 2nd grade to their mid to late 20's.

Elementary Math, Reading, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, College Basic Math, GED preparation, SAT and ACT Math, Algebra2 are all areas where I can help you or your child gain confidence and work toward developing content mastery.

"If the learner hasn't learned, the teacher hasn't taught" was a message of one of my Education professors. These words have guided me in the classroom and in tutoring.

Working with you or your child my focus is first to see the learner "gets it", then to guide practice. Further independent and guided practice will hopefully result in increased self-efficacy, long-term retention and ultimately content mastery.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
