I have a passion for education. I have a Bachelor of Art's degree in Foreign Languages. I have a Minor in Math/Computer Science and the equivalent of a Minor in English. I have started working on my Master's degree in English.
I currently teach GED classes through Rock Valley College. I truly enjoy this as I get to teach a variety of subjects. My favorite subject is actually math. I know that math is usually the most difficult subject for students. However, I am equally happy to tutor in all of the general high school subjects. I can also help prepare them for the ACT or the SAT.
I have been teaching GED with Rock Valley College for six years now. I have been tutoring for eight years.
I intend to dedicate the rest of my working career in helping students develop a passion for learning. Knowledge is power.
Please contact me for an interview to see if I am a good fit for you or your child.

Appreciate David really digging in to see where the needs are and assigning practice work to prepare for next session.
David taught Algebra 1, being our first meeting it went very well and my daughter appreciated his style of teaching.
David made our son feel comfortable & was eager to get started! We have hope that after working with David there will be much improvement.
David has been tutoring my son in College Algebra for a week now and my son is feeling much more confident in his ability to take his exam this coming week and his final in 2 weeks. I appreciate his comments after each tutoring session. It helps me to understand what they are doing during each session. Thank you very much.
David was very patient with me. I am a little behind but his patience is very encouraging. we have had only one session and so far i am pleased.
David has been very understanding of some difficulties my son has had. He is reasonable and helpful. My son likes him, and that is just great.
David was an excellent tutor! He tutored both our son and daughter for the Act exam. Both of them improved their ACT scores after their tutoring sessions.
We were in search of assistance for our daughter as she prepared to retake her ACT. We found David thru Wyzant. David was very accommodating to our schedule and needs. He always came prepared. He listened to our needs and offered recommendations. David tutored once a week from June thru mid October. Our daughter's ACT score went up 3 points. The increase in the score now opens up more choices for her college selection. Most importantly our daughter feels successful. She was feeling pretty low after her first score and not looking forward to retaking the exam. David made the tutor sessions light and fun. Our daughter called us after her exam and was actually excited. She felt good about herself and was hopeful her score would be better. She mentioned that David really helped her and it wasn't all that hard or time consuming meeting with him. Thank you David for all your help. We would highly recommend David for tutoring.
David has been working with my sons on Algebra 2 and Applied Math and they are progressing very nicely! They look forward to his help.
I needed help for a military exam and David was extremely helpful! I am so glad that I found him! He was very accommodating to my hectic schedule and was willing to meet with me closer to my home which I really appreciated! Not only did he have loads of practice worksheets and exams that he gave me he also knew that I was a visual learner so took time to find great websites that had videos and such. I would highly recommend him to anyone! Thanks David!
David B. is an outstanding tutor and ideal for our son. He has an advanced understanding of the Algebra II material and has a way of presenting the concepts in such a way that they are easily understood. Our son in just two sessions has gone from being a little frustrated with understanding Algebra II concepts to having a high level of confidence and understanding. David is already taking our son ahead in the curriculum to get a head start on what is to come. David B. has been a real find for us and our son.
In a few short weeks, David helped me accomplish what I could not working alone. I struggled for several weeks with Algebra and was in danger of not finishing in time for graduation. David was very good at explaining the simplest way to perform each equation and made the process fun. I would recommend using David. I will graduate on time!
Good communication with myself and my daughter- he is helping her understand concepts she has trouble grasping from the teacher and is doing well in her class.
David was a great pick for my high school age son. They connected well and he was very patient with my son. It helped him out greatly to tutor with David twice a week. He was able to start
understanding math concepts that he had been lost with. David was easy to get in touch with and to handle schedule conflicts. We are very happy that we found David.
David is an awesome tutor and is very patient. He helped my son with his reading giving him good tips. We are happy to report that my son passed his accuplacer test by improving his score over 26 points. Great job. Wish we would have known about WyzAnt earlier. Keep up the good work.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
