About Robert

Are you a beginner frustrated trying to learn the guitar? An intermediate guitarist and stuck on a plateau? Or, maybe your are an advanced guitarist and just can't quite get to the highest level. I can help. As an experienced professional guitarist and teacher, I will teach you and coach you so you can reach all of your guitar playing goals and dreams. Whether you are an absolute beginner, intermediate or advanced student, the fastest way to learning the guitar is with an experienced teacher,

I have over 40 years of playing and teaching experience. I am a professional guitarist. I perform as a jazz guitarist as well as a classical guitarist. Also, I play Chet Atkins style fingerpicking! I started out as a rock guitarist in high school playing paid gigs in rock bands.

My education began with the American Conservatory of music where I studied harmony and theory. At the same time I studied privately for 8 years with Jack Cecchini. Along the way I played in masterclasses with famed classical guitarists Oscar Ghiglia and Manuel Barrueco. My jazz education was learned on my own, playing professionally, as well as 3 years of study with reknowned jazz guru Charlie Banacos. I have studied music almost all of my life and have dedicated myself to the instrument and teaching.

I am an extremely patient, understanding and encouraging teacher. Having said that, I do expect that students will put in serious practice time at home working on the lesson material. However, if a student is still in school, school homework is the most important thing and I understand that school comes first. If an adult is studying with me, I understand that work and family comes first. So the lessons with adults are kept light and easy.

If you are a hobbyist and just play for fun, the lessons will be fun and easy and you just learn at your own comfortable pace.

If you are a beginner and have never played before, on the first lesson, we will work on learning a real song. I will show you every note to play and I will be there guiding you and helping you through the song. It will be very easy and by the way, it will be a very famous song. So you will have a major accomplishment on your first lesson.

Along the way we will learn chords and a whole lot more through actually learning songs.

For more experienced players, we will also work on real songs and real music. I will teach you picking techniques so you can become a speed demon on the guitar! And, we will learn about harmony and theory in easily understood lessons.

I will design a personal program for you so you can play the music you love.
