I taught college prep mathematics at a high school in the northern suburbs of Chicago for over 10 years. I have a degree in Business Administration and Mathematics. I have a mathematics and special education endorsements. Over the ten years of teaching, I provided one-on-one student support and I was able to raise student test scores up 10%. I am a firm believer in making mathematics fun by creating interactive lessons that relate to current events and popular culture of today. The math has to be relevant to your life in order for it to stick. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask. I hope to hear from you soon.

I have a an extensive knowledge of mathematics. I have taken multiple courses in algebra, geometry, statistics, calculus and other areas of mathematics on the college level. I understand that students learn in different ways, and I pride myself to catering my methods to their strengths and weaknesses. I am open to students approach math problems in different methods to challenge their overall knowledge of the lesson. I am a skilled mathematican, which I like to display through my overall attitude and actions. The most important skill that I have is that I care about the students experience and making the teaching focus less on the content being taught that the student being taught.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
