College of Dupage (Photography)
I love to explain photography to students of all ages. I have had a passion for photography ever since I was in high school and have studied at a very fine photography college. I have held many classes in photography through churches and community programs.
I enjoy teaching in groups as well as one on one, so whether it is basic camera operation or more advanced I can get you comfortable with your camera settings. I can also teach some editing skills that is all to important these days to make your photographs come to life.
I'm easy to work with, and will teach at your level of understanding. This is a fun skill to know and if you love taking photographs I know that I can assist you in making images that you will be proud of.
I have a Photography certificate from The College of Du page. I've studied multiple disciplines in the art and consider myself a master of landscape and portraiture. Studio lighting, still life, using gobos and scrims to direct light and mastering the controls of a DSLR are among my expertise.
I am more than happy to help students get the most out of their cameras. I know that today's cameras can be a little intimidating to a beginner or intermediate. Please let me show you how to understand the functions and get you creating images that you can proudly display and show family and friends. I love to explain photography to students of all ages. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have studied photography at the College of Du Page, which has a state of the art photography program. I have conducted beginner and advanced classes in the operation of modern DSLR's through community organizations and neighborhood churches. I can explain the basic and advanced features of a DSLR. ISO, shutter speed and aperture settings and how they relate to one another. Focal length distances to get the desired affect in the image. High speed photography, motion blur, proper lighting, back button focusing, using a tripod are all areas I can teach in one or two lessons.
