My personal philosophy is that anyone is capable of learning anything given the correct format. I have seen this philosophy come to fruition every semester I teach at Illinois Central College.

After being allowed to tutor at my community college in 2008, I realized that effective tutoring starts with listening to the student and allowing him or her to set the pace. My job as a tutor is to motivate the student to persist while helping them stay on the right track. This independent approach helps students to both learn and enjoy the subject matter without further outside assistance. Since 2008, I've been pursuing my passion to enhance this methodology by teaching accounting as a career.

I have a Masters degree in Accounting from Northern Illinois University and I currently teach full time at Illinois Central College. I also volunteer through Junior Achievement to teach Entrepreneurship to high school students and 5th graders. I have 2 years of full time teaching experience, 3 years of one on one tutoring experience, and 4 years of corporate experience. I specialize in teaching Math, English, and, of course, Business.

My job experience has allowed me to tutor a diverse range of students ranging from 8 years old to 42, from Illinois to Thailand, Nigeria, Lebanon, China, and several more countries, and at academic levels ranging from K-12, college, and even the corporate level.

Admittedly, I struggled through high school and barely got my diploma. When I entered college, I was finally able to find success. By personally experiencing both academic success and failure, I feel like I have the patience and ability to help students get to where they want to be regardless of how behind they feel they are.

Feel free to contact me for an appointment. I will help you navigate the rigor of academia and attain success. I look forward to hearing from you.

Before I decided to major in accounting in college, my original plan was to become an English teacher at the high school level. Despite my change in career, I still write as a hobby and blog for fun on my off days. Also, as a holder of a graduate degree I took the GMAT, an exam that tested for aptitude in Math and English. I also take the time to emphasize and implement proper business writing for my accountancy students in my classes.
