Currently, I am a senior at Illinois College majoring in History and Secondary Education and minoring in Psychology and Sociology, possessing a 3.8 GPA. Aside from this, I work as a Student Ambassador, Speech Center Advisor, and Writing Center Consultant. Outside of the classroom, I serve as Student Forum, our form of student government, Executive President/Student Body President. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

At Illinois College, I work as a Speech Center Advisor, helping students with speech structure, delivery, content, etc. In order to have this position, I was selected by my public speaking professor and attended numerous workshops on how to be an effective tutor. I also have had several personal experiences where I have had to present in front of a crowd, ranging from a small group to over a thousand.

Social Studies

When I complete my undergraduate career at Illinois College, I will be qualified to teach 6-12 grade social studies in the state of Illinois. I have taken every introductory level social science course (History, World History, Psychology, Sociology, U.S. Government, etc.) at my college, and I received an A in all of them. My passion is the social sciences, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge on this subject matter with others.


At Illinois College, I am completing a Sociology minor. In all of my courses, I have received an "A." Because of my academic achievements, I was selected to join the Sociology Honors Society as a sophomore in college. Overall, I enjoy Sociology, and I love helping students understand how sociological factors impact the world we live in today.

Study Skills

As a student with a 3.8 GPA, I have had to work extensively in creating effective study skills. Aside from this, I am a student in the TRiO program at my school, a program established to assists students succeed in school. I have attended workshops and conferences on how to help students succeed in school. Ultimately, I am dedicated to assisting students discover what study habits will best help them succeed.
