I love reading and writing, and I love helping other people fall in love with the written English language. I have written a blog in the past, and will soon return to blogging. I have written employee handbooks, job descriptions, business letters, family histories, company minutes, and many other writing assignments. I minored in English in college, and have never stopped learning. When I write, my goals are clarity and brevity. My writing is as long as it needs to be but no longer, and I eliminate all fluff and repetition. I have graded standardized tests, and prepared and given training in the areas of employment law, safety, and OSHA compliance.
I'm a graduate of a Catholic grade school in which grammar and reading were stressed. I can still diagram a sentence!

Colette is very nice, patient, friendly, and Knowledgeable. She gave me a lot of advice in order to improve my English skills, like go to museum, read newspaper, and make friends that speak English.
Colette has been very patient with our son. She is always punctual and prepares for the sessions. Without a doubt she always goes an extra mile. We highly recommend Colette.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am very well skilled in ACT English. I have graded ACT tests through Pearson and have tutored several people in English reading and writing.
With two masters degrees and years of writing for professional organizations, I am well equipped to tutor students in ACT reading.
I have worked with non-English speakers for many years. When I worked at Crane Carton, I established an ESL program for our employees. I have also tutored students at local schools.
I have successfully completed a bachelors degree and two masters degrees. I have tutored for Literacy Volunteers of America. I set up a training program in basic skills, math, and reading for a manufacturing company. I have also graded ISAT reading and math tests for Pearson Education.
When I read a chapter for a class, I highlight key points as I read the passage for the first time. Then I re-read the highlighted sections. If I have time, I write important points on note cards and review the cards several times.
I have a bachelors degree in political science, a masters degree in public administration, and a masters degree in human resources and industrial relations. I am a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
