Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have used Algebra 1 on a daily basis in my career with various large scale engineering projects.

Algebra and Algebra II have always been a favorite subject of mine. I specifically enjoy that these subjects can be used in real life problems and scenarios. As a Professional Engineer for the past 13 years I have found that Algebra and Algebra II skills can be used in the real word and I will use these real world concepts to help students appreciate the subject matter more.

As a Professional Engineer I have taken and mastered all Calculus courses. In my career I often use Calculus skills and hope to teach others. One of my favorite aspects of Calculus is applying the concepts to real life situations and where each portion of the course can be used.

Pre-Algebra has always been one of my favorite subjects. As a practicing Professional Civil Engineer for the past 13 years I have found many uses for Pre-Algebra. My teaching style would include understanding Pre-Algebra concepts and helping students understand where and how these skills can be applied to real world problems that can be useful as a life skill.

As a practicing Professional Engineer for the past 13 years I have found that Trigonometry can be used in many real world problems. Students often times lose interest in subjects and think "when am I ever going to use this?" I will help students understand real world problems that will help engage students and provide them a want to learn the subject instead of simply teaching.
