Illinois Institute Of Technology (Architecture)
My love for tutoring came at an early age, when my fellow peers approached me to assist them on homework, or studying for exams. This love expanded after school hours, as I got my first job in high school as a tutor for Enopi, an enrichment center providing supplemental education for tutoring in Math, Science, English, Reading, and Writing, for elementary students. After I graduated high school, and went on to study Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology, I was offered a position as a Tutor in the Academic Resource Center (ARC). There, I assisted my peers in the field of Architecture, as well as Structural Engineering and provided a basis of understanding for them to excel in their corresponding classes.
Tutoring has always been a passion and hobby as opposed to a job for me. I take pride and joy in helping others realize their full potential and how much they can learn if they have the right mindset. Learning does not have to be a tedious, boring task. There are many ways to make learning fun, and that's what I try to instill in all of my students, whether they are 5 years old or 20 years old. Having fun while learning is a universal aspect, and when I see my students having fun, they become more successful in the classroom. My goals as a tutor is to make sure students fully understand the subject, and to make them want to be challenged while learning.
As a top honors student in high school and college, I hold myself to a high standard and encourage feedback and criticism. Not only do I want to improve other's capabilities in the classroom, I also want to improve on my capabilities as a tutor. My time isn't as flexible as I would like it to be, but please feel free to let me know what time is best for you to meet, and I will try my best to accommodate to your time. I do have a 24-hour cancellation policy, but I offer makeup classes.
To ensure that students have a quiet and comfortable study space, I prefer to meet at a library where students are engaged in a learning environment. However, I am happy to travel to another location if that is more convenient for the student.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you become more successful in your studies!
My first passion is Mathematics. At an early age, I gravitated towards mathematics, and they beauty about it is no matter what language you speak or what country you are from, math is universal. I scored nearly a perfect scored on the math portion of the ACT, and took Calculus II as a senior in high school. My most recent math class I've taken was Calculus III.
I took an AP Anatomy class as a senior in High school, and passed #1 in my class. Anatomy is another passion of mine, and I've continued to learn more on the subject as time has passed.
I've tutored in the subject of Architecture for 3+ years, and have a Professional Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. I also have a degree in Structural Engineering, and anything art/math related, I can assist on as I took a variety of courses in my undergraduate career.
I encourage any student with an aptitude of learning to please feel free to contact me. I am no expert in any one subject, but I am also a student for learning, and hopefully can help guide you to success in your studies, whatever they may be. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
ACT Math and English were my best scores for the ACT. I almost received a perfect score on the math portion, and I got a 30 on the English portion. There are many tips and tricks I've learned along the way, and am more than happy to share that with anyone who needs help to succeed.
I've taken Algebra 1 at an earlier age than my peers and still finished the semester #1 in my class. Math has always been my favorite subject, and algebra 1 was by far the best math class I've taken.
I graduated with a Professional Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. I have 3+ years of tutoring experience in this subject when I was an undergrad. I am currently working full-time at an Architecture firm in downtown Chicago.
I was a professional tutor for 2 years, and I specialized in elementary math.
