Bio

I am a 28 year old former research scientist turned remote educator. I've been in basic science for 8+ years doing bench top biochemistry, physics, and practical engineering. Since COVID has made the in person lab work I used to specialize in much harder, I'm looking to put my skills back to the test to help you in school!

I have heard from my students that I am a fantastic tutor because my career is in science, when people say "but who is going to use math in real life?" I always say ME!...

I am a 28 year old former research scientist turned remote educator. I've been in basic science for 8+ years doing bench top biochemistry, physics, and practical engineering. Since COVID has made the in person lab work I used to specialize in much harder, I'm looking to put my skills back to the test to help you in school!

I have heard from my students that I am a fantastic tutor because my career is in science, when people say "but who is going to use math in real life?" I always say ME! I DO! Because working in science means understanding data, statistics, mathematical models. Why do you need to know what slope intercept form of a linear equation is? Because it lets you use a regression model to find out the relationship between variables under while holding other variables constant.

Tutoring for me is as much about grounding the material in useful topics as it about explaining the mechanics that underlie the material. Sure you could memorize all the formulas in the world for that trigonometry test, or you can learn what those sin() and cos() symbols really mean and derive the formulas on the fly!

Matt is an incredible genetics tutor!

Matt is an incredible genetics tutor for anyone in any advanced undergraduate or semi-graduate course. His ability to dissect very dense genetic papers and answer abstract questions in such a short amount of time is astounding. I have looked for many tutors with his skill set and he was the only one able to answers my questions and help me with my graduate problem sets. I would 100 percent go with Matt if you are looking for any advanced genetics help (or any biology help at all really)!!
