I am a former high school math teacher. I provide subject tutoring with a focus on 6th - 12th grade math, ACT Prep and ASVAB test prep.
Many parents/guardians feel ill-equipped to help their students with homework assignments, studying, note-taking skills and test preparation. I am trained and versed in the new standards, and understand what/how students are being taught in school!
I don't teach formula memorization and tricks, instead I help students build on their prior knowledge so that they understand how to solve problems. I help students learn what they've missed and understand difficult concepts to improve confidence and ensure success, today and in the future.

Gabrielle is a great tutor. She was very patient with my son helping him steadily increase his grade in Intermediate Algebra. My son was struggling until he started tutoring sessions with Gabrielle. She finds a way to explain the concepts in a detailed way he can understand. He REALLY needed that! She certainly knows her stuff! She was also very flexible about when & where to meet. When I emailed her, she would get right back to me. I would highly recommend Gabrielle!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
