I was in desperate need of a tutor to teach me precalc before going away to school and taking calculus. Eugene came through and he was able to teach and help me understand everything from basic trigonometry to understanding how to find basic derivatives. He helped me to understand the mechanics of solving problems and make sure I completely understood the problems rather than just memorizing.

My son was behind on precalculus homework. We needed help quickly. Eugene was available and has been a great help. He helped him to get caught up quickly and to better understand the concepts to build on moving forward. He is very patient and has vast knowledge. I highly recomend him.

My son has been very impressed by Eugene over two sessions. He is looking forward to more work as the school year gets rolling!

Eugene was a great help to me in my differential equations course. I was struggling quite a lot with the new material and needed help as soon as possible. Thanks to Eugene, I was able to gain a much better understanding of the concepts I was having trouble with in class. He has an excellent knowledge of mathematics, which thoroughly impressed me, and helped with my learning of just not differential equations, but concepts in calculus and algebra too. I also appreciated Eugene's attitude towards teaching and his determination to helping me succeed as much as possible. I highly recommend Eugene to anyone who is struggling in math, I had a great experience working with him and believe others will have the same.

Needed a lot of help from a tutor on very short notice and Eugene came up big time. I was able to meet with him for five days in a row (two online, three in person) before a final exam and ended up doing drastically better than I would have without him and saved my grade. We went over all the material and he helped me identify my weaknesses that we worked on together. Also is a really nice guy, very patient, professional and answered any questions I had. Great job.

Working with Eugene was great! He is very knowledgeable in Calculus and helped me understand problems that I could not learn on my own or in class. He is patient and will help you through every step of the problem. The reason why I decided to get a tutor was because I was having trouble in understanding Calculus which put me behind in my class. I met with Eugene to try and catch up in my class and prepare for my future exam. After the first meeting we started to meet on a regular basis. I was very pleased with the outcome as now I can understand Calculus a lot better. He has a great mentality and a nice personality. I do plan on working with Eugene again in the future. I do recommend this tutor to anyone who needs help in Calculus or any of the other courses he tutors.

In three months of my son meeting with Eugene he has helped bring his grade in Trigonometry and calculus up to a high B. He might even teach an A this semester in math!

Eugene was quick to respond and very helpful. He explained the topics well and made them more understandable. I needed an emergency session late at night and he was available and able to bring me up to speed on the topics from Differential Geometry. I would recommend him to others who need help in understanding.

Eugene is an exceptional tutor! He is extremely knowledgeable but very accessible. My son was blown away by his ability to compute problems without paper/pencil. He is a gifted individual and I am glad that we found him through Wyzant!

Eugene has connected well with my 15 year old son. Jon's understanding of Geometry has excelled. He feels more confident and looks forward to his tutoring sessions....which are 2 hours long (highly recommended!)

Eugene is a kind, patient, good-natured man. He knows his math and was very professional and utilized every minute. He takes your time seriously. My son liked him right away and worked well with him. Very helpful. Would definitely use him again!

Eugene is an amazing tutor- he knows his math! With his teaching techniques he focuses on the correct material to maximize the tutoring session. I recommend Eugene to anyone looking for a solid math tutor.

He is a great tutor. He really does know his stuff well and he explains it the best way. Without him, I don't know how would I pass my classes.

I had been having trouble with discrete mathematics and needed tutoring. Eugene responded very quickly to my request for a tutor and was able to explain solutions to problems in multiple ways in order to facilitate my understanding.

We contacted Eugene because my son was feeling overwhelmed with AP physics and needed help outside of his class. After 3 sessions, my son scored much better on his test and has now raised his class grade up by 2 grades. Per my son, he is attentive and makes everything easy to understand. Based on the results, he must be doing something right!

Eugene is not only extremely knowledgeable, but very focused and quick to find the weaknesses that need to be addressed. A very valuable tutor and we're so glad to have found him! Highly recommend!

Eugene covered some good GRE test-taking strategies and went over a few problems with me. Overall, I was very satisfied with his approach to tutoring; he broke things down plainly and made very, very sure I understood before moving on. One-on-one tutoring turned out not to be the best method given my particular situation/schedule, but I highly recommend Eugene for targeted review and explanation of complex math subjects- especially if you, like me, find math daunting.

I highly recommend Eugene. He is professional. highly motivated and can help you with any question you might have.

Eugene worked with my 15 year old son to bring him back up to speed after he missed a number of days of school due to illness. He quickly identified the areas that needed improvement and continues to work with him to help him gain confidence and expertise. My son likes working with him very much, he said that Eugene explained things very well.

Eugene is calm and precise. He knows his maths and can explain concepts clearly and carefully. He was easy to contact, punctual and professional.

Eugene is a wonderful tutor! He is very patient, knowledgeable and goes through the material thoroughly. Eugene is also very easy to reach and I always get a fast response. I would HIGHLY recommend Eugene and I am VERY likely to continue lessons. Eugene is also very nice and follows up after the lesson to ensure clarity.

My son met with Eugene for help with a college calculus final and was very satisfied with the results. Eugene was clear, thorough, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. We recommend him highly.

My son felt completely lost before the lesson and after 2 hours my son is ready to take a test tomorrow. We are so thankful to have found Eugene. He is worth every penny!

Update: after 3 days of lessons with Eugene, my son is now getting Bs in the homework department. Before the lessons, he would receive Ds and sometimes no points at all! What a transformation! My son is not as stressed as before and he looks forward to lessons with Eugene everyday. My son feels more confident with Geometry and I can't tell you as a parent how relieved I am about that! Thank you WyzAnt!

My Daughter is taking Honor Geometry over the summer and the course is extremely fast pace and level of content very advanced. She is struggling with the pace of the class on content. He quickly assess the level of my daughter and her areas she needs assistance in. Eugene easily knew where they were at in the class and was able to get her back on track. He gave her help hints and tools to use to understand proofs. Homework problems she was struggling with Eugene broke them down for her in a way that made sense to her. My daughter was so frustrated and wanted to drop the course and now she has her confidence back and feels like she can not only do this but do really well with Honor Geometry. Eugene is going to help her through the rest of the class, prep her for quizzes, test, review homework and more importantly understand Geometry. She has gone from 55-75% on quizzes and tests to over 90%. I'm so happy to see my daughter smile again and not be so overwhelmed and stressed out. Eugene, Thank you!!

Eugene tutored my son in Calc 1 and did a great job. He did a thorough analysis of my son's strengths and weaknesses and developed a tutoring plan and schedule to get my son back on track for his next term at Kettering University.

GRE
Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

In a Collegiate Scholars Program, I taught Algebra to gifted high school students. My approach to teaching Algebra is conceptual. I train my students to make connections between the abstraction of Algebra and real-world applications.

My area of research lies in the field of nonlinear partial differential equations. I have given a guest lecture on this course, where the focus was on Laplace transforms, convolution, and integro-differential equations. With my extensive knowledge of the subject, I believe I am qualified to tutor differential equations.

Having earned a master's degree in mathematics, I have the knowledge and experience necessary to teach discrete math. I have taken courses in logic, number theory, probability and statistics, and linear algebra; all these courses are a part of discrete math.

Having received a master's degree in mathematics, I have the knowledge required to tutor finite math. Notably, I've taken courses in probability and statistics and linear algebra, both of which are a part of finite math. I have over five years experience teaching the subject to college students, using both conceptual and analytic approaches.

B.S., Benedictine University

I have done graduate level work in linear algebra, which helps me see the subject from a broader perspective than someone who has only been exposed to undergraduate linear algebra. I have also tutored linear algebra using conceptual and problem-oriented approaches. In addition, I use linear algebra methods regularly.

I have a B.S., Benedictine University, and M.S., University of Chicago.
