I have over fifteen years of experience tutoring to high school, college, and graduate students. My specialty lies in tutoring mathematics in several areas such as calculus, elementary/abstract algebra, linear algebra, differential equations, real/complex analysis, and topology. In my experience, I've found that students learn mathematics most efficiently through conceptual-based learning and active engagement in problem solving. Because of this, I will teach you problem solving strategies and help you improve mathematical proficiency through challenging problems. I will also help you build mathematical intuition needed to break down difficult concepts.

I give both individual and group sessions. I am usually available in the mornings and afternoons, but I'm flexible with students. My sessions are of two types; one for assigned work (homework, tests, etc.) and one centered on problem solving techniques and methods of proof. I assign problems once a week, to give you more practice with what you've learned. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, but I offer makeup sessions.

I look forward to hearing from you! I'll help you succeed in your studies!

Eugene is FANTASTIC!

I found Eugene while looking for a tutor for Abstract Algebra. I didn't know how things would go, but Eugene is positive, encouraging and supportive. I really enjoy working with him!

Knowledgeable and competent tutor

I am taking a graduate level class in math/physics in college, and Eugene has been very helpful, and continues to be. Specifically, I am in a mathematical methods in physics course, and topics include, lie groups, lie algebras, vector spaces, tensor operations, isospin, and particle physics. His knowledge of math and physics is broad. I have yet to run into a concept in this class that he cannot help with, and considering this is an advanced course, a tutor with this knowledge depth is hard to find. Eugene has helped me with understanding concepts in my class, he had provided background information that the class doesn't cover, and guides me on homework assignments. He is patient, and understands well how math/physics classes in college move, and how to keep students up to date with the material. I am enjoying working with Eugene, and will continue to for future classes.

Eugene is awesome!

Eugene was awesome. I am taking multi variable calculus this year and was very confused and stressed out about the material we have been working with. However, after tutoring for just one hour Eugene was able to quickly clear everything up. He is very thoughtful, prepared, gives thorough explanations, and was very encouraging and helpful. The fact that he is amazing at drawing 3D graphs made the experience 100 times more enjoyable. I hope to get help from Eugene again if I have further questions in this class!

Life saving tutoring lessons

We went through my homework and lecture notes on measure theory and linear transformation together. I really appreciate how knowledgeable and patient Eugene is at explaining complicated concepts. He has a solid grasp of the topics and can always solve my doubts. It's amazing that he could tie everything together and impart the knowledge in various, approachable ways. I started from being really confused in class to now proactively participating in the class discussion. Thank you!

Very Chill and Knowledgeable Tutor

He is very welcoming and seriously knows his stuff. Believe me, the subject matter I'm on is anything but easy, but Eugene certainly knows his way around it, and does an excellent job explaining his process as well.

Very helpful with complex analysis homework

I am trying to figure out some problems with complex numbers and Eugene was very helpful. Especially after reviewing Eugene's notes from our session, I find that I can now understand problems that I had no idea how to approach.

Amazing tutor, extremely helpful.

Eugene has been one of, if not the, best tutor I've had. He's been extremely helpful and clear in helping me with parts of Calculus and has even showed me new techniques that have been very helpful in the classroom. Though I struggled when I first started Calculus, he has helped me so much that now I feel confident going to take tests. He's a great tutor, and he's funny too, but he gets it done.

Explains Calculus well

My son is enjoying working with Eugene very much on Calculus BC course material. Eugene can see where my son is heading when working on a problem and helps him see how to complete the work or shows him a better path to success. There is no waiting for Eugene to re-familiarize himself with the material, as Eugene has comprehensive knowledge of math at higher levels. We have worked with Eugene for about a month and plan to continue working with him.

Very Knowledgeable For Abstract Algebra

I worked with Eugene on some Abstract Algebra problems. He, as a graduate student, is extremely knowledgeable. What is even more important is that he can divide the problems into small parts and explain to you, patiently, clearly, and concisely, step by step. This is really helpful for me. Definitely recommend.
