I have over fifteen years of experience tutoring to high school, college, and graduate students. My specialty lies in tutoring mathematics in several areas such as calculus, elementary/abstract algebra, linear algebra, differential equations, real/complex analysis, and topology. In my experience, I've found that students learn mathematics most efficiently through conceptual-based learning and active engagement in problem solving. Because of this, I will teach you problem solving strategies and help you improve mathematical proficiency through challenging problems. I will also help you build mathematical intuition needed to break down difficult concepts.

I give both individual and group sessions. I am usually available in the mornings and afternoons, but I'm flexible with students. My sessions are of two types; one for assigned work (homework, tests, etc.) and one centered on problem solving techniques and methods of proof. I assign problems once a week, to give you more practice with what you've learned. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, but I offer makeup sessions.

I look forward to hearing from you! I'll help you succeed in your studies!

Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

My area of research lies in the field of nonlinear partial differential equations. I have given a guest lecture on this course, where the focus was on Laplace transforms, convolution, and integro-differential equations. With my extensive knowledge of the subject, I believe I am qualified to tutor differential equations.
Discrete Math,

Discrete Math

Having earned a master's degree in mathematics, I have the knowledge and experience necessary to teach discrete math. I have taken courses in logic, number theory, probability and statistics, and linear algebra; all these courses are a part of discrete math.
Finite Math,

Finite Math

Having received a master's degree in mathematics, I have the knowledge required to tutor finite math. Notably, I've taken courses in probability and statistics and linear algebra, both of which are a part of finite math. I have over five years experience teaching the subject to college students, using both conceptual and analytic approaches.

Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

I have done graduate level work in linear algebra, which helps me see the subject from a broader perspective than someone who has only been exposed to undergraduate linear algebra. I have also tutored linear algebra using conceptual and problem-oriented approaches. In addition, I use linear algebra methods regularly.
Mechanical Engineering,

Mechanical Engineering

As an undergraduate, I conducted research in geophysical fluid dynamics at PSU. I have experience working with students on engineering statics and dynamics. I have also taught linear circuit analysis to many math, science, and engineering majors.

Very knowledgeable

Eugene helped me prepare for my engineering dynamics exam by going over the concept and problems I found most difficult. He cleared up a lot of my confusion surrounding how to use the equations and how to approach the problems. Definitely helped ease any stress going into the exam.

Best tutor I have ever had

I am in grad school studying applied math/data science. I have to take real analysis, which is based in proofs. I can't even tell you how hard it is to find someone who can even understand the material, much less tutor it. He has saved my life. He breaks the proofs down into easy to understand pieces and references every definition, theorem, and property he is using. When I am starting to fall behind in class, I can send him a message and he will set up an appointment usually is less than 10 minutes. He has great availability. He knows more about math than probably 99% of other math tutors on this site. He is helping me with a class only graduate students take.

Very knowledgable and helpful with Number Theory!

I've been studying Number Theory with Eugene for about 4 months and it has been very successful. I'm very glad that I'm working with Eugene on this. Eugene understands the material very well and is able to break things down to a level I can understand.

Eugene is a very knowledgable tutor

Eugene helped me a lot with my theoretical physics and kindly explained all the complicated and difficult concept of quantum and classical system. He is very patient and careful. Before showing me the right concept and knowledge, he will always do a proof calculation. The explanations are very detailed and specific. He really helped me to have a better understanding of theoretical physics

Great tutor!

Eugene taught me Bayesian stats and was patient and made sure I understood everything step-by-step. He is a very knowledgeable and dedicated tutor and went over the material before I had my lesson with him.

Knowledgeable and Valuable Tutoring Service

Eugene and I have been meeting regularly to review topics from my high school AP Physics course. He has helped me through both semesters (Mechanics and E&M) through a variety of teaching methods. In particular, Eugene has done everything from helping with homework assignments to teaching complete concepts that I had trouble grasping in class. Most importantly to me, Eugene has been providing me with his own notes on from each session to help me continue learning at home, and I can contact him with any question I may have and he has been very good at helping me out both in and out of tutoring. Overall I would recommend contacting Eugene if you or someone you know is looking for help in a variety of topics; for myself, I have gained mostly physics knowledge but it is easy to see Eugene can help in many other math and science-related topics which he has shown a thorough understanding of.
