University of Illinois at Chicago (English)
Lewis University (Graduate Coursework)
My name is Caitlin and I have recently graduated from Lewis University as a highly qualified English/Language Arts teacher. I have been tutoring on a volunteer/casual basis throughout most of my undergraduate career, and am ready to bring my knowledge and experience to a wider student base.
I have a BA in English Literature from the University of Illinois at Chicago and 51 credit hours towards an MA in education. I have been tutoring on WyzAnt for over two years, and have also worked as a writing tutor for post-secondary students at Lewis University's Writing Center. Most recently, I completed my student teaching at Oak Forest High School where I am currently employed teaching sophomore Language Arts and senior Advanced Placement Literature and Composition.
Outside of teaching, I am also a volunteer events coordinator for a teen arts group based in Homewood called TALK (Teen Arts Leadership Kouncil), where I help to organize events such as poetry slams, writing workshops, and art shows.
I consider myself to be a lifelong student - no matter where I am in life, or what I am doing, I NEVER want to end my own scholastic process. I have an exemplary history in the field of academia, and am excited to share both my knowledge and my study habits/organizational skills with students of all disciplines.
Aside from reading and writing, my passions include music and theater - in high school I was an active participant in choir, colorguard, and drama. Hello!

Caitlin is dedicated to help her student to succeed. My son has had problem to prioritize his homework assignments, taking notes, and lack the study skills to better prepare for tests. After just a few lessons, I am already seeing positive results and a much improved attitude and confidence toward homework and study. I highly recommend Caitlin to any parent who is looking for someone who is committed to help their kids to academic success!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
