Hello! My name is Suren. I have PhD in Mechanical Engineering and currently work as a Design Engineer with over 15 years experience. I am well versed with various branches of Math/Science such as Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Physics, etc. and use them every day as part of my job. This has really strengthened my knowledge and ability to teach. My passion is to teach and get students excited about Math/Science paving the way for their bright future in STEM.

My teaching experiences includes Teaching Assistant for 6 years in University and 3 years as Math/Physics tutor for primary/secondary classes. In my Grad school, I have taught several math courses for Undergrad students. One needs to have strong knowledge in math fundamentals to teach in University. I have taught math and physics (including elementary, middle and high school students) when I volunteered in an Orphanage school. Currently, I have two boys in Elementary/Middle School and have been teaching them/their friends for 3 years. Teaching them has shown how much I enjoy teaching younger kids during their formative years by showing how math/science is relevant by using real life examples.

During all my years as a student, I can always relate my favorite classes to the teacher's knowledge, their passion and open communication. As your kid's tutor, I want to provide that experience. I take time to ensure students understand and then use repetition to ensure they retain the knowledge. Math can be intimidating if one doesn't understand it but is so much fun and rewarding once understood. My job is to make that a reality in a relaxed but focused manner.
