I have been giving private guitar lessons since 1994 at various music stores throughout the Chicagoland area - Pro Am Music in Downers Grove '94 to '98, Offbeat Music in Lake Zurich 2001 to 2008, Minstrel Music in Niles 2008 to 2012, School of Rock in Highwood and teaching out of my own home studio in Morton Grove. I truly believe that a big part of being a complete artist is giving back and showing others how to do it. I get great rewards from seeing my students move forward. And I want them all to find that balance of learning and enjoying the art.
As a guitarist/vocalist, I have toured the U.S. & Europe with my band. We've recorded 2 critically acclaimed independent albums of my music. We've also played for crowds of over 20 thousand people when we opened for Bon Jovi at United Center in 2011 and again in 2015 when we opened for Sammy Hagar.
In 2014, I starred, played lead guitar & sang in the debut of Dee Snider's Rock N Roll Xmas Tale at the Broadway Playhouse in Chicago. From early 2012 on through 2014, I performed in NYC on Broadway as the on stage guitarist for the hit musical Rock Of Ages. During this time I also starred and played lead guitar in the Blue Man Group Productions workshop for "EMO" project in NYC. Other notable performances include a mini tour with singer/actress Kristin Chenoweth, playing with keyboardist/pianist Jools Holland for a TV show on the BBC, performing in concert with a 50 piece orchestra in rock/classical fusion project Rocktopia and performing the Star Spangled Banner with Dee Snider for the Chicago Bulls at United Center.
I was a top 5 runner up in 3 national guitar competitions - Guitar Center's King of the Blues in Los Angeles, CA 2009, Guitar Player's Guitar Superstar in San Francisco, CA 2008 and the North American Rock Guitar Competition in Buffalo, NY 2007. And winner of Chicago's Hottest Guitarist competition in 1994.

Everyone is different and therefore I tailor lessons to each student while still giving them all the proper fundamentals. I teach music theory, note reading, chords, scales, improvisation, ear training, songwriting and popular songs. Genres of study include rock, pop, blues, jazz, country and classical. I have a lot of experience not only in teaching the material but in performing it live.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
