Hello. After 5 years of teaching Junior High Language Arts in a public school, I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. I have remained active in the field of education by privately tutoring students for over 7 years.
Students under my care receive instruction tailored to their individual needs helping them find success. I have worked with several learning types including ADHD students. I have tutored students ranging in age from 8-17. Additionally, I teach ACT Prep Courses within the very successful, Lincoln Way district and offer one-on-one test prep for the English, Reading and Writing portions of the ACT.
I am willing to tutor in the student's home or the local library.
I have several references available upon request.

Tina is very informative and taught me how to completely prepare for the ACT. I now have the skills set I need prior to taking this test.
Tina is a very good tutor, easy to get along with, and is a pleasant person. Thanks for your help.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
