In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been conducting a chess meeting for elementary students where students learn to play chess and play the game with one another for the past 10 years.
Dear Prospective Students,
I have been teaching in an elementary school the last 10 years to a predominate population of Hispanic students, 90% of the total student body. As long as the parents and students are positive about learning the language, we can be successful as a team in the development of English, written and spoken.
I have taught reading and English classes for 12 years in a private school. I first started with kindergarten for 2 years after which I moved onto fifth grade grammar, spelling, and reading classes. I am currently tutoring students learning English as a second language.
